Oct 2002 -- Second Star presented a two day course at the October X12 meeting in Miami, FL. The course, entitled EC/EDI Business Analysis, was presented through DISA Education in conjunction with Research Triangle Education. The class offered a pragmatic view of electronic commerce, focusing on EDI business analysis, design, and integration and discussing the myths and realities encountered during these activities. The class helps managers and persons just becoming familiar with EDI to understand the hows and whys of EDI and to avoid some of the pitfalls when implementing or upgrading their company's EDI infrastructure.
The class elicited only positive responses from students and observers, including:
It was nice to have a technical class
taught by 'techies' who seemed very knowledgeable and who taught
at an English level, not a technical level.
Finally a course where the instructors expose some of the myths
of EDI and XML rather than just giving a vanilla view of the subject.
Be sure that the class surpassed my expectations. It was clear
and objective, outlining what I consider to be crucial aspects
related to e-commerce and the role of EDI.
